Fringe theatre on a tight budget (is there any other kind?) means nonstandard arrangements such as (in the case in the production) props by one person and costumes by another. And of course everyone has other jobs to go to. One of our cast is in fact a professional Clown, one is retired, one works as a Tarot reader...and so on. The production management is being held together wonderfully, though, by Mime Lab Co-Founder and cast member Owen Lee. Owen is a Chinese Doctor by day, 'Idiot number 5' by night.
There have been some wonderful moments of panic as I feared making wrong choices, or having made wrong choices. But step by step, problems bring bonuses and extra leaps of the imagination.
